You will be joining the multi-disciplinary team of Friends-International (FI) comprised of 600 professionals committed to creating innovative social service for youth, children and families worldwide.
What will you do?
You will be the newest member of our Fund Development team working from the Bangkok office and coordinating with Friends-International headquarters in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. You will support the Fund Development strategy by building multi-faceted partnerships with prospective funders in Thailand, sourcing funding for projects across South East Asia to ensure that our programs and partners have sufficient funds to save lives and build futures for marginalized children & youth, their families and their communities.
This includes identifying opportunities, developing new partnerships and building/strengthening relationships with donors, and coordinating and writing grants and proposals for multilateral donor agencies, trusts and foundations, government agencies, embassies and corporates.
Your responsibilities as a Partnerships Officer will include the following:
Contributing to the design of fundraising strategies for FI and our partners
Proactively building and maintaining funding partnerships with embassies, companies, foundations and government agencies in Bangkok to identify suitable and strategic sources of funding, tailoring project proposals to donor profiles and ensuring external deadlines are met
Representing FI to donors; explaining and pitching Friends Programs; maintaining positive and fruitful relationships
Supporting the Fund Development team in the proposal-writing process to secure funds for programs in four countries
Acting as the Thai Program Specialist by keeping abreast of project updates and funding gaps in Thailand, measuring success rates, and reporting to line manager/Fund Development team
Supporting the Thailand team with donor management, including monitoring reporting requirements and helping with donor report submissions
Support partner organizations in their fundraising efforts by developing joint proposals and supporting their individual efforts
About you
- You are a dynamic and proactive individual who enjoys bringing multiple teams together
- You have strong relationship building skills and are comfortable meeting and presenting to potential funding partners
- You can develop high-quality proposals targeting institutional and corporate donors and have a proven track record of successfully attained grants
- You have excellent understanding of corporate objectives and requirements
- You have excellent understanding of institutional donor rules, regulations and priorities
- You are fluent in written and spoken English, and spoken Thai
- You have excellent time management, coordination, communication and organizational skills
- You work best under pressure and have the ability to meet tight deadlines
This is a full-time position based in Bangkok with occasional travel in the region to visit projects or donors
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
