In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts. Save the Children delivers programs in over 36 districts in the North, Rwenzori, North-Eastern and Central regions of Uganda, Currently, Save the Children has a staff complement of over 300 persons. Save the Children Uganda Country Office is looking to recruit a Ugandan National for the following position:

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the person contributes to the achievement of Disaster Risk Reduction project objectives. He/ She shall provide ongoing capacity support and is responsible for coordinating and implementing all the project activities. The person works closely with partners/districts/community structures/schools, prepares plans, field reports and monitors activity implementation on Disaster Risk Reduction. The Senior Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Contract Duration: Open Ended subject to availability of funds.

Location: Moroto

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a bachelors degree in Agriculture, Environmental Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field, or equivalent accrued working experience;
• Minimum of three years working experience in Disaster Risk Reduction, food security, and community based adaptation, livelihoods and Nutrition programming in Uganda (preferably with an International NGO);
• Minimum of three years working experience in Livelihoods and development-related programming
• Motorcycle Riding skills are a must.
• Ability to speak the local language is of added advantage
