Job Title: Project Officer Education (1 position)Contract Duration: Fixed term (12 months) Location: Yumbe Contractual Status: National posting

Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they support the country programs and are/or visiting country programs.Role Purpose:

This position reports to the Senior Officer, Education. Overall project officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and implementing of education activities at community, sub county and district level.

Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;

  • A diploma in social Work, Social Administration, Education. Development Studies, Adult Education or any other related field, Additional qualification in a relevant field of study is an added advantage

-At least 2 years experience with good training skills (training of teachers) and understanding of community based projects particularly those addressing basic education

-Experience working in a challenging environment, knowledge of local culture and fluency in English is a must

-Knowledge of child development aspects (physical, emotional, social, intellectual/cognitive.

-Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Health, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection program delivery

-Ability to speak local language and directly interact with target group will be an added advantage

-Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.

  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
