Objectives of the position:
To coordinate and ensure all the nursing services of CoRSU are provided effectively and efficiently by providing overall relevant technical support to various departments at CoRSU. Working with staff of all disciplines, develop a nursing vision and strategy for CoRSU, promoting nursing leadership that is safe, caring and responsive.
To lead and manage the development of nursing practice (professional conduct) to enhance patient care throughout CoRSU. Ensure students in training and all nurses at CoRSU are educated and trained to an appropriate standard to meet the care needs of patients and modern clinical practice standards.
To manage all nursing resources (i.e. personnel and budget for Nursing including Clinical Education & Training, Nurse Recruitment, Research in Nursing, Nursing Development).
Qualification, Skills & Experience:
Must be a Registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
A Diploma in Nursing is essential while a Degree in Nursing is highly desirable.
Master’s degree in Nursing or a qualification in Health Services Management or general management is an added advantage.
8 years’ experience of nursing care of which 3 years should be in team leadership and managerial position.
