Proposal Summary:

The five-year USAID Learning Contract will help USAID/Uganda strengthen its performance and, to a lesser extent the performance of its implementing partners, in collaborating, learning and performing in order to fortify the impact and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to Uganda's development.

Position Summary:

MSI seeks a senior project management specialist to oversee a team of five (5) project management assistants providing administrative support to USAID/Uganda and train, coach, and mentor USAID/Uganda staff. This is a long-term position over the course of the five-year life of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, guide and continuously train, coach and mentor MSI's project management assistants who will be:
    • Monitoring USAID implementing partner performance, accuracy of performance data and reports and progress towards results
    • Monitoring USAID implementing partner expenditures and making recommendations regarding approval of expenditures
    • Planning for USAID events and field trips
    • Maintaining files
  • Support USAID/Uganda in continuously training, coaching and mentoring/setting up mentorship arrangements for its project managers.
  • Support USAID/Uganda's adaptive management efforts.
  • Assume other tasks to strengthen USAID/Uganda's project/activity management performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, social science, development studies or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project or program management of donor-funded development projects, preferably with USAID-funded projects.
  • Four (4) years of experience supervising, mentoring and and/or coaching staff.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with USG-funded program management, policies, regulations and procedures.
