Baan Dek Foundation (in English, Kids Home Foundation) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious, organization that supports about 1000 children in need and their families in the slums of Chiang Mai Province (Northern Thailand). Through specifically tailored educational programs and flexible individual support, Baan Dek protects endangered children, allows families to becoming self-sustainable and gives them opportunities for a better future.
The Foundation is officially recognized by Thai Law and is supported by three independent entities: Kids Home France, Kids Home Italia and Kids Home America. All are recognized as a charitable association in their countries and have the vocation to raise fund and spread information about the work of Baan Dek Foundation in Thailand.

Responsibilities of the advertised position:
Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a Graphic Designer / Illustrator (as a volunteer or intern) to fulfill the position of Communication Officer. The objectives of the mission are:
Edit and create communication materials for Baan Dek external/Internal communication (pictures / video / promotional posters, newsletter, etc).
Support the management team regarding day-to-day missions.
Participate to local projects developed by Kids Home Foundation: Afterschool Project (after-school activities delivered in governmental school and orphanage) / Access4Kids Project (educational activities designed to support migrant communities working on construction sites) / Flying Library Project (itinerant library activities delivered in slums around Chiang Mai), etc.
Required skills:
Qualification and experience:
Graduated (or in progress) in Graphic Design (flexible)
Professional experience in graphic design and illustration / animation with children an asset
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other programs in Adobe Creative Suite
Personal characteristics:
Creative and meticulous
Ability to work independently with a deadline
Able to provide and receive positive criticism in a sensitive manner
Highly motivated, flexible and interested in humanitarian missions
Languages: English both spoken and written / French is an Asset
Duration of contract: 6 months (flexible), starting mid December at the earliest.
Location: Chiang Mai, Thailand Position status: Volunteering/internship (certification can be awarded at the end of the project)
Compensation: No financial compensation but lunch on weekdays, accommodation and transportation mean available.
