Trainer for an info session for Thai high school students
on sexual and reproductive health

as part of ‘UNderstand’, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations

co-organised between IOAA Division, MFA and UNRC

Sunday 5 July 2015, 13.00 hr - 14.00 hr,

TK Park, 8th floor, Central World Plaza

Background:

International Organisation Administrative Affairs Division, Minister of Foreign Affairs, plans to hold a two-day event, called UNderstand, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and showcase Thailand’s contribution to the UN. The event will be held on Sat 4 - Sun 5 July 2015 at the TK Park, 8th floor, Central World Plaza. Activities include painting and competition for primary school students, quiz on UN facts, face painting of UN Logo and national flags, info session for secondary students on reproductive health and HIV/AIDs, panel discussion on “Story of Thai people in the United Nations” and Model UNSC at TK Park’s mini theater 1.

In addition to providing hi-resolution photos on UNFPA Thailand works with the royal Thai government, short film footages, presentations, news coverage, publications and promotional items, UNFPA Thailand is hosting an info session for approximately 40 Thai high-school students on sexual and reproductive health on Sunday 5 July, 13.00 hr - 14.00 hr.

Objective:

  1. To inform urban Thai high-school students of the knowledge of the sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Scope of works:

The trainer will tailor the information on the topics below and inform the young participants of:

  1. Popular questions and answer about sex and relationship
  2. Myths related to safe sex
  3. Easy steps to help teenagers make a decision whether they are ready for intimate relationship
  4. Sources to get real-time answers on sexual health to teenagers

Deliverables:

  1. An hour-long info session is done with young participants as scheduled.
  2. A brief report of the participants’ knowledge and understanding about the reproductive and sexual health before and after the info session.

Qualification of the trainer:

  1. At least two years of extensive experiences working in the field of adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
  2. Respecting the rights and privacy of the young learners.

Time frame:

The training will be held on Sunday 5 July 2015, 13.00hr. - 14.00 hr. The venue is an open space called the Oval Space, TK Park, 8th floor, Central World Plaza, Bangkok.

The trainer is expected to prepare the content of the training in advance. It is suggested that the trainer uses the info materials as the hand-outs to the participants. H/she is expected to arrive at the venue at least an hour before the training and aware that the training time might start and end slightly later than the scheduled time.

Payment method:

Full payment will be made after the completion of work via the trainer’s bank account.
