Thailand: Consultancy: Regional Network Meeting Coordinator

    UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical support to team in regional network meeting. He/she will work closely with each of the programme areas on MNCH, Immunization, and HIV/AIDS. The task involves (i) coordination the preparations for this meeting including coordination of the technical preparation, administrative and logistics, point of contact for the country offices, preparation of materials for the meeting), (ii) facilitation during the meeting, and (iii) ensuring that a report of key discussion and action points is available immediately after meeting for further follow-up.

    Work Assignment:

    Main Task Areas:

    1.Programme Development

    Task Details:

    Undertake consultation with Health team, identify focus areas and develop draft meeting programme; support analysis or / consolidation of available data – based on agreed focus – and draft presentations, arrange for expert/guest speakers

    Deliverables:

    1.Meeting theme, sectoral and overall focus areas identified (End June)

    2.Meeting schedule, draft by End June and final at least one week ahead of the meeting date

    When:

    First week of July

    Main Task Areas:

    2.Coordination of Administrative / Logistical Arrangements

    Task Details:

    Develop list of potential participants, and draft meeting logistics plan - identify venue and other technical requirements for the meeting, arrange advance registration, and liaise directly with the participants to coordinate inputs and reflect expectations in the development of the agenda, particularly for the plenary sessions

    4.Agreed Meeting Logistics Plan

    End July

    Main Task Areas:

    3.Meeting & facilitation

    Task Details:

    Obtain inputs from all facilitators, speakers etc., consolidate all materials for all participants, support facilitation, and support/guide participants during the meeting; ensure daily summary of highlights, and for keeping records of meeting proceedings and discussions

    Deliverables:

    5.Original copy of meeting documents

    6.Daily meeting Highlights

    7.Notes of Proceedings

    When:

    End September or First week of October

    Main Task Areas:

    4.Reporting

    Task Details:

    Consolidate discussions and agreed actions into one documents for wide dissemination

    Deliverables:

    8.Final Overall Meeting Report

    When:

    Within 2 weeks after the meeting

    End Product(s):

  • Detailed meeting programme
  • Binder with complete set of materials for the meeting– soft version or hard copies
  • Daily/Finalized Meeting Report
  • Estimated Duration of Contract: 60 working days between June-October 2018, in anticipation that 10 days each month will be required in mid-June – mid-August, and 20 days each month from mid-August – mid October.

    Official Travel: Trip to Bangkok during the meeting.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Degree in public health, social sciences, medical sciences or related field.
  • At least ten years experience in programme and with experience in organizing major learning and advocacy events.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF operating procedures and structures.
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with ability to facilitate/lead a group of individuals and impart knowledge.
  • Interested candidates are requested to submit CV or P-11, full contact information of minimum 2 references, availability, proposed daily professional fee and all-inclusive travel cost to/from Bangkok in USD by 11 June 2018. Please note the air tickets under UNICEF contract shall be re-routable, refundable type (economy class and most direct route). The consultant will be responsible for own travel insurance, visa fee and terminal expenses.
