UNICEF Thailand is seeking an individual consultant to write human-interest stories/articles about the situation of children in various issues, as well as other UNICEF-related work in Thailand.
Work Assignment:
In support of the Communication section planned activities, the consultant will undertake the following work assignments:
Write articles and human-interest stories related to the situation of children in Thailand as well as other UNICEF-related work in Thailand. * Production of material in the Thai language will be the main focus of the work carried out, but writing skills in both Thai and English would be an asset.
The consultant will work closely with Senior Communication Assistant. Briefing on UNICEF project background and related children’s issue will be provided before the assignment. Senior Communication Assistant will also brief the consultant on the type of outputs needed for each assignment.
Estimated Duration of Contract: 1 January 2016 - 31 December 2016 (with possibility of extension)
The consultant will work for approximately no more than 10 days per month. Payment will be made at the end of the month based on the number of actual working days and submission of satisfactory deliverables.
Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:
- University degree in Journalist or related field
- Excellent in writing with proven track records
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the field especially in human interest stories
- Flexible to travel to other provinces
- Creative and easy to work with
- Familiar with children’s issues will be a plus
- Ability to write human interest stories in both Thai and English languages will be a plus
